Sunny began drawing at an early age with lessons from her
artist mother. She
began using oils by age nine and won her first award at age 13. Beginning in
the early 1960's most sales have been commissioned work that includes
landscapes as well as portraits of people and pets. Exhibits have been held
in Seattle and Hawaii before coming to northern California. The artists work
is included in private collections in Florida, Washington, California, Oregon
and Hawaii.
In portraits, the artist looks for that special quality that makes each
person unique - and strives to bring this out with a combimation of
traditional realism and emotional expression, using color and light to guide
the eye of the viewer. Nature studies are done in a similar manner, creating
a
place one can enter on ones own terms - not necessarily that of the artist.
